Surf Cotton x Rhythm Summer 2011
It ain’t easy bein’ steezy…

There’s something nostalgic and heart-warmingly familiar about surfing in a pair of cotton boardies. Maybe it’s the simplicity of it all. Maybe it’s the way they seem to stretch, strain and react as you do the same. We think it just feels good. When the waves are slow, the sun is high and the sliding is fluid, surf cotton just makes sense. Out of the water or in, they look the way that a good single fin should feel.
Rhythm’s patented Surf Cotton is the perfect blend of comfort, performance and sepia-toned steeze.

The one thing they don’t do is stick to walls.

Ultimate Boarder: Stage II
Seaside Reef played host to the country’s best surfers, skaters and snowboarders for the 2nd leg of the Ultimate Boarder competition. Split into three separate events, Ultimate Boarder seeks to crown a surf/skate/snow crossover winner, a true board-sport champion.
Rhythm’s own Pat Millin headed down the coast from his abode in Encinitas to show the rest of the pack how to surf a break that helped shape his surfing since he could walk. The waves were imperfect, windswept mountains of froth, but everyone came out to prove something.
Pat battled back from a rough first heat to claim a spot in the Finals and after a display of local knowledge in the messy 3-5 foot surf, landed himself 4th overall in the Individual Pro-Am Division. The Rhythm fans on the beach and in the offices were exploding with cheers as Pat systematically destroyed lefts off the reef, proving once again that contest savvy can’t hold a candle to local knowledge.
This extreme sports triathlon wraps up this Saturday April 9th with the Skate Jam in the Seaside Reef parking lot.
Get Em, Pat!

we can’t vouch for the no shirt or no service side but we do know that if you are not wearing shoes today that you are doing something great to benefit children of the world. toms shoes has asked that everyone go shoeless today to create awareness about the vast number of children forced to go through their childhood without shoes and the horrible effects that this can have upon their lives. why not? not only is it for a good cause but if you haven’t been to school, work, or even the grocery store shoeless it feels pretty liberating.

Out of one of the most devastating natural disasters in our generation’s memory has come an outpouring of worldwide support and solidarity for our brothers and sisters in Japan. Though the recovery has begun, an estimated cost of approximately $100 billion is a formidable opponent, even for a first-world nation and any assistance is being accepted with open arms.
This is where the general goodness of mankind comes in. Chris Rule, the owner and stalwart behind SurfIndian in Pacific Beach, CA, decided to take action and organized the “Hang Together” event, with the help of dedicated staff, at his Mission St. shop. The result was an overflow of smiles, positivity and support for those affected, as well as several thousands of dollars in direct aid from a far-from-silent auction, raffle giveaways, and special edition tees commemorating what was a night of optimism and hope. We would like to offer our condolences for those effected, and encourage everyone to get involved. It is in the darkest of times that the light of humanity finds a way to shine brightest.
