yesterday seemed like of those days where nothing seems to come together quite correctly | you wake up at the time when you are already supposed to be somewhere else (1.5 hours away) and your have your shoes on under the covers | your phone is dead and you have no idea how or where to meet the two people you are supposed to be meeting at different times in different places | you find a common ground get everyone together and then have to buy chains | and then have to install the chains | and then your tire goes flat underneath the chains | and the vibration of the chains makes the 6 disc changer in your car skip and then stop completely | then its silent | just you and those around you who somehow aren’t angry with you | you wonder why until you exit the vehicle into complete silence (aside from the whistling of air still rapidly escaping your tire) | the falling snow mutes all sound and all you see is smiling faces | this is snowboarding |

then you get back to your car and are instantly shocked back to the real world as your roof rack has been sheared off of your roof |

“It took me up until now to get over getting second to Jeremy last year” Perrow said. “It’s so good to get back here. I just felt so comfortable the whole time. I’ve had such a great event anyway and coming in to today, it was just amazing. The waves have been phenomenal. I haven’t surfed Pipe like that in my entire career. This is pretty much the pinnacle for me.”

This result is made even more special as Perrow needed to place 5th or better in this event to secure his requalification onto the 2012 ASP World Tour, his 6th year as an elite competitor on the Dream Tour.

The 2012 ASP World Tour kicks off at Snapper Rocks in March on the Gold Coast, Australia.
